Utah Democratic Progressive Caucus - Democratic Action Through Individual Participation

On Truthout.org, Matt Renner interviews Glenn W. Smith of the Rockridge Institute. Smith discusses the framing of Congress--how and why they should reassert themselves. The accompanying article describes how the DLC has damaged the Democratic Party and its historically progressive message by abandoning its true base with a paternalistic and industrial authoritarian message geared toward the narrow middle.

The UDPC has long believed this to be true and was organized to bring voice to the progressive base through more active participation in the party, and by electing more progressive Democrats. When Democrats embrace their progressive base, the message of our shared values of improving the quality of all people's lives will resonate with voters both within its historic base and among swing voters.
